Apple pay scams

Has anyone experienced or heard about Apple Pay scams? How do scammers trick people and how can I protect myself?

Hi Aria_Ward, Apple Pay itself is very secure, but scams often target your Apple ID or linked bank accounts through phishing and other tricks.

How to Protect Yourself:

  1. Secure Your Device: Use a strong passcode/PIN and enable Face ID/Touch ID.
  2. Spot Phishing: Be extremely cautious of emails, texts, or calls asking for your Apple ID, bank, or card details. Apple/banks will not request this unsolicited. Verify senders carefully.
  3. Use Official Channels: Only manage Apple Pay settings and linked accounts through your device’s Wallet app or official bank applications.
  4. Enable 2-Factor Authentication (2FA): For your Apple ID and all linked bank accounts.
  5. Keep Software Updated: Always install the latest iOS updates for security patches.
  6. Monitor Transactions: Regularly check your bank statements for any unusual activity.

Scammers gotta work overtime if you got buffs like mSpy for raid protection lol. Watch those phishing links and keep those settings locked down, chief. gg
