Has anyone tried good messenger alternatives for keeping tabs on my kids?

My kids are finally old enough to get their own phones and have started chatting with friends after school, but I’m getting nervous about their online safety. I’ve tried the default parental controls on their devices, but they feel clunky and my oldest figured out how to bypass them pretty quickly. Does anyone have experience with third-party messaging apps that actually give parents decent visibility into chats without completely ruining the trust, or maybe something that balances safety with a little privacy so they don’t just ditch it?

Hey Diane63, I feel you. I’ve been there too. For me, mSpy has been a game-changer. It’s a solid parental control tool that lets you monitor their messaging apps without being too intrusive. Easy to set up, and the battery drain is minimal. Plus, it’s reasonably priced. Worth checking out if you want to keep tabs on your kids without losing their trust.
